Advantages: Innovative and totally new

Disadvantages: Just not enough new games for it

A useful piece of kit, I purchased mine for 80 pounds with Wii Fit during the original craze for the console and everything associated, for me I donīt feel this has in anyway fulfilled its potential or justified its price.

I might not have the right games, but using it with Wii Fit, I found that it was good fun, but after a while it does feel a bit boring and you lose interest. The issues with balance also trouble me at times as I found it was possible to cheat on games by simply standing in a certain part of the board rather than using skill and balance.

For me its a really good piece of kit that could be utilised more by the manufacturers, iīve played Shaun Whites Snowboarding which is great fun and uses the board as a snowboard but I donīt think the 80 pounds justifies two or three games of this kind, I really feel they could sell these at a cheaper price as it is really just a large accessory for Wii Fit.

The board itself is slim and sleek and you need batteries to power it, it has an on/off button and you need to tune it to the Wii sensor on top of your tv at first use.

Once youīve done this you are off, the board can handle up to 20 stone in weight which is handy for a bruiser like me, but it does need to be handled carefully as it does still feel a little bit delicate.

The board is responsive and iīve found it generally does what I want on Wii Fit and Shaun White Snowboarding, but I do find it takes up a lot of space in the house and really doesnīt get used as much as my Wii controller or my X Box Controller due to the lack of really good games compatible with the board.

I appreciate it might be hard to create games for use with a board, but that makes me feel that it really needs to be better value to justify being anything more than a fad.

It is easy to install, simply 2 AA batteries and tune to your tv sensor, it has been reliable for the last 2 years and is very responsive, when you play a game, you have to allow it 20 seconds for the board to co-ordinate with the Wii but after that your away. For me the variety of features and value for money is its downfall, it is a great and innovative idea but has proved to be a fad in my house.

Summary: Innovative and great fun, but not enough new things for it
