Nintendo Wii Fit Balance Board

When it comes to gaming, I always find it fun to participate actively. For example I had a dance mat for the Game cube. When I heard about the Wii, and especially Wii Fit, I was immediately enthusiastic and decided to buy a Wii + Wii Fit that came with the board. Is the Wii Fit with the board really as fun as I had hoped?

Wii Fit is a special game where you have various physical exercises. The whole game is based on your BMI (Body Mass Index) and helps you lose weight. With the game comes a special balance board, this is a large white board where you can stand on. The Balance Board can see exactly how you standing and which movements you are making. Also can it measure your weight.

Before you start playing you must first create a profile. You need a Mii and you can enter your name. Wii Fit will begin with a calculation of your BMI. You have to enter your birth date and length. You can also specify how much your clothes weigh. If your BMI is calculated you can say what your goal is, for example you want to loose an number of pounds in that amount of time.

The Body Test is a test that you do every day. You get two exercises to do with your balance and your BMI is calculated. You get to hear what your Fit age is and whether you're on track. The exercises you do are different every day and you never know in advance what you are getting. If you gained some weight than you have to say why you think that is. You can also download The Body Test of one of the channels of Wii so you don't need the disc every time.

The Wii balance board is really just a large white plastic board and is around 60 by 40cm. On the board you can see actually where you have to put your feet so there's no confusing there. The negative about the board is that it runs on AA batteries so you do risk that the batteries run out while you are using it! It happens to me once and it was very annoying.

Before you use the board you need to sync it with the Wii. It needs to be connected and on the Wii you will find a button where you can sync it with. I never really experience any problems with this connection and it's quite easy to use. When you easy it so can only do this with bare feet and the board needs to be on a flat surface. Also since it's plastic don't start jumping on it since it can break. I find the board quite accurate with the movement and even the measuring with the weight.

I only used the board with the Wii Fit and it's fun in the beginning but I don't do it as often as I probably should. It does get a little bit boring but that's not the board fault. The board works easy and it's a great accessory for the Wii. It's not cheap because the game and the board cost around 70 pounds.
