Nintendo Wii Fit Balance Board
Advantages: Easy to use, does help you to get fit, fun!
Disadvantages: Weighs you whenever you access you profile, ebarrassing if others are around!!
The Wii Fit Balance Board is essential for playing the Wii Fit and Wii Fit Plus games.
*What is Wii Fit?*
Wii Fit is a 'game' for the Wii which is designed to aid you in losing weight and getting fit. The 'game' has several mini games, which are very fun and aid you in toning your body. For example, there is a 'hula hoop' game in which you must move your hips as if moving a hula hoop, this is aimed to tone your tummy.
You can also follow regimes which are designed to tone specific parts of your body, for example there is a bums and tums regime already built into the game.
When first setting up your profile on the Wii Fit, the game will weigh you. Every time you return, you will be weighed again to see how you are getting on with your weight loss. Your profile will be allocated to your Mii character and everytime you lose weight, your Mii will too :)
*Why do I need the Balance Board*
The balance board is essential to use the game as the majority of the features are measured using the board. For example, when playing the hula hoop game, you have to stand on the board as, somehow, it measures if you are doing it right. I am not sure how this works, I believe it is something to so with how the weight shifts from one foot to the other.
Also, the balance board is needed to weight you whenever you access your profile and keep track of your progress, otherwise what would be the point?
*The board itself*
The board itself is made of plastic. It has two pressure sensors on the top, which you must stand on when playing the game. I assume these pressure sensors are used to monitor if you are playing the game right.
The board connects to the Wii through a wireless connection and has a power button on the back.
I love the Wii Balance Board, I recently decided that I would go on my Wii Fit everyday for atleast an hour, whilst dieting, and managed to lose just over a stone in 3 weeks. I find exercise boring, I don't find going to the gym or going for a run fun at all! But the Wii Fit makes exercise fun, even jogging!
Also, some of the games on the board are great for family occasions and competing with others. These seem to be in the balance category of the game more than anything else.
I would recommend the Wii board if you are thinking about getting in shape as it makes getting fit more exciting and you can do half an hour of exercise without even realising it!
Summary: Highly recommended, i love this!
