Nintendo Wii Fit Balance Board
Advantages: It is a great idea which does a good job
Disadvantages: Does not work that well on uneven surfaces
When I have been using the Nintendo Wii you notice how many various gadgets and gizmos it has for it and sometimes you never pay much attention to them.
With the Wii Fit game you need a Wii fit board and this board is unique in many ways.
You have a gadget which will work with the Nintendo Wii console which can weigh you and register movements all by a blue tooth type link.
I was looking at this device and wondering If I could use it because I weight 19 stones and I am constantly at the gym and I know I am a freak when it comes to fitness so I never knew if the board had a limit and I was told it did up to 21 stone or around 330 pounds.
I was relieved and the reason the board is good is because it helps support people who weigh slightly more then everyone else. The actual design is odd it kind of looks like a platform when it is placed on the floor and it is very even as well.
The design is done to make people feel comfortable when using it because every movement is done via the pressure pad underneath the top service so when you move onto it the system registers the movement you made.
I first used this item in my spare bedroom which sadly has a thick carpet and the results were poor the Wii console kept failing to notice my movements so I moved it to my laminated flooring and it noticed my moves so it needs a soft and yet even surface.
I have enjoyed playing my Wii Fit on the board but I have struggled to find other usages for the item because not many other games seem to need it so unless you have the Wii fit game this might seem pointless.
Yes you do need it for the Wii fit game but even some of those games do not require the Wii Fit board at all. Connecting to your console is easy you get told when to turn the power on and how to enable the device to notice each other via the helpful booklet included.
I think more games should be used for this system as it seems to me only one or two exist and they need more for a board which in theory can be quite expensive. I think the way it is built with thickness and plenty of weight means it lasts a long time.
I think the other problem might be that although the device notices your movements and helps you lose weight (which is does) I just think it could be more used and it is a great product overall.
The device takes four batteries and they last a while but I have used the expensive brand names when doing this and I like the fact that you can easily insert them and how long they can last for.
I paid for the board and game quite a few months ago now for around £75 which seems expensive to me for what it offers.
Summary: A good Wii addition
