I bought one of these when I was looking for a way to use a game pad for my PC, at the time I had a Playstation 2 with a couple of controllers and having seen this device for less than a tenner figured it was a good way of making one item work for multiple uses.
The device is very simple, plug and play. Stick one end into a USB port, stick your PS2 controllers into the other end and you're away. The computer will then allow you to use them to configure controls in all your favourite games. It really is that simple.
Aesthetically the device is pretty darned ugly, it's small and black but that's about it, it makes no real effort to fit into your PC setup, that said it doesn't look like it would look out of place next to a Playstation 2.
If you want a way to use a gamepad on your PC without buying many new pads then go for this, if you don't have a Playstation 2 controller yet then I'd suggest that you look for a separate contoller as the Playstation2 controllers aren't the best out there.
Ah, a cheap essential for anyone thinking about having an Emulator!
This product allows you to connect your Playstation 2 controller into your PC and play the games as if it were on the PS2.
I had a look around eBay for these, though I found this to be similarly priced, and Play.com is one of my favourite sites anyway, so it seemed right to purchase one from here.
I'll start with the negative, and I only have one negative: It's pretty ugly... Do I care? Not at all.
The advantage consoles tend to have over the PC is the controllers and the fact that the Console caters for all the games, upgrades aren't required. Providing you're happy with your PC or Laptops performance this is a must buy.
The driving games I have no my PC was pretty much unused. It was a nightmare driving with up/down/left/right and there was no 'feel' to the games. Platform games also suffered and the only games I preferred playing on the PC were strategy and First Person Shooters.
The device is a plug & play, no installation required, simply plug one end into your USB and then the Playstation controller into the connector, and away you go!
It's really made me use the PC a lot more for gaming, and when not in use, I just stick the cable in a drawer (as it's pretty ugly lying around).
It's cheap, but worked 100% so far!
If you like to play games on your pc but are tired to play with the same old pad, this may be the solution for you, assuming you have got a ps1 or ps2 pad.
In this case this tool is very easy to use , you just have to unpack it and plug it in, connect a ps2 pad and you are ready to go, you can of course try and control every button with windows xp in the control panel but actually this tool is already calibrated and you will have no problem if you use windows xp.
As the name suggest this device will probably work only if you have windows xp, and is probably the best choice if you have a ps2 pad ready and you want to use it on your pc because you already are comfortable in handling it.
The connector give you the ability to control other device used on the ps2 but actually i can't confirm that claim, I only tried it with 2 ps2 pad to pay with a friend and it worked perfectly.
The price is £ 6.99 and for that price is a real bargain, given the review on play.com it appear to be working on vista and on a ps3 too so it can be used for other system and not only on xp if those review are actually true.
