Sony Dualshock 3
Advantages: Weight feels sturdy, motion control, great d-pad
Disadvantages: triggers may not be liked by everyone
The Dual Shock 3 is basically the same as the Six Axis controller but with the added functionality of vibration. This may not sound like a huge difference but I feel that it impacts the game playing experience dramatically.
The addition of small weights inside the controller make it feel heavier and in my opinion, sturdier. The motion controlling feature is included from the Six Axis. While this is not used well in most games, titles such as Killzone 2 make excellent use of this feature.
In my opinion the Dual Shock 3 is one of the most comfortable controllers I have ever used. It fits so well in your hands. It also has an unrivalled directional pad, which is one of the best for fighting and arcade games. The analogue sticks remain sensitive and responsive. They are great for twitch movements and precision shots.
The design for the triggers has remained the same which may not be to everyone's tastes. Personally, I think they are much better than the ones that featured on the Dual Shock 2.
Overall, I would highly recommend the purchase of a Dual Shock 3, even if you already own a Six Axis controller.
Summary: An excellent controller
