Sony's dualshock 3 controller was designed for the playstation 3 system and is like a successer to the dualshock 2 controllers, more so than the sixasis controller.

What is different about the dualshock 3 controller and the sixaxis controller is that this one has the vibrate function during gmaes, while this has been excluded in the sixaxis controller.

Many people were dissapointed with the sixaxis controller for not having vibration in it, me included, although the sixaxis is still a good control. This control gives the players what the what with all the good of the sixaxis controller with the added dualshock vibration.

The added dualshock also makes the controller heavier which isn't a bad thing as it feels much more solid in the hands and less plastic and cheap. The dualshock works well making the controller vibrate during certain points during a game, such as when you crash in a racing game, helping to make the event in the game feel a little bit more realistic. The dualshock is an improvement on the one in the playstation 2 controller, with it fitting better with the game and feeling more real.

The controller still has the motion sensing abilities of the sixaxis controller which I don't really find necessary as it isn't really needed during games, and when it is doesn't work that well and I always choose not to use it where possible, Its not a wii.

Also like I said in my review for the sixaxis controller the design is very much the same as the palystation 2 and is easy to hold with buttons being in the right places so they are easy to get to when you need to use them, and the shape of the control feeling good to hold and fitting well. It also feels even better as it is heavier.

I find that the controllers are quite expensive at £32 from amazon. Although when I checked the sixaxis controller cost more. This controller seems to have replaced the sixaxis rather than be an alternative as it is more difficult to find, and the easiest way to find the old controller is second hand. This control, the dual shcok 3 is easy to find and can be brought from amazon or play etc.
Other unofficial playstation 3 controllers can be brought be these aren't as good, although can be much cheaper. However some of them are not wireless and the shape is very different and less comfortable to hold and harder to use. While this one is more expensive it is worth buying over the alternatives as it is much better and it is only a one time purchase

Overall this is the best control for the palystation 3 and I would choose this one over the sixaxis. The price is worth paying over other controllers.
