"CT Special Forces" is a video game released for the Gameboy Advance in 2002 by LSP. It is a side scrolling action game. In the United States, the game received a rating of "T" by the ESRB panel which deemed it suitable for teenage years and above due to its violent content.

In this game, the players take on the role of a lone wolf commando who is deployed in a hostile nation and must eliminate all opposing forces. There is clear military influence in this game with the player wearing a distinct drab green two piece and battling similarly dressed individuals. Special Forces has been compared to "Metal Slug X" and my testing has revealed the games to handle very similarly. The player will run and jump his way through various platform stages all while shooting anything which appears to move. The player will also have opportunity to pilot a helicopter through flying stages and this is presented from a top down perspective over the other stages in side scrolling. Various power-ups and weapons are available to the player and tend to be dropped by enemies as loot, so developing a sense of thoroughness early in the game can benefit the player in later stages.

The graphics are very cartoon-like in appearance and are quite well drawn. The attention to finer detailing is also apparent with numerous less obvious animations being apparent. Each shot will feature a flash from the tip of the weapon and when using a shotgun will leave behind the bullet's metal casing. The soundtrack is also of a well developed standard with weapon sounds being somewhat realistic to their physical counterparts and vocal prompts and taunts from the enemies being showcased throughout gameplay.

Overall, I would recommend CT Special Forces to prospective buyers. It is a short game which only features 12 stages but remains and enjoyable play throughout its shorter duration.

Summary: Thumbs up
