"Kim Possible 2" is a video game released for the Gameboy Advance console in 2006 by Buena Vista Interactive. It is based on the American animated television series "Kim Possible". In the United States, the game received a rating of "E" by the ESRB panel which deemed it suitable for all ages.

The first release of "Kim Possible" was met with a less than stellar reception. The game primarily focused on running and jumping through various platform stages and simple enemy encounters. The second release builds on this by introducing new gadgetry including a grappling hook, a lipstick which releases glue and a stealth suit. For the most part, the game is still running and jumping through platform stages but this gadget element allows for further appeal as these items are required throughout play. Kim Possible 2 also implemented new level types including those which occur on sea and those which occur in the air as opposed to typical "on land" platform stages. The gameplay is generally simple in appealing to a younger market but the controls can present some learning curve as all buttons on the console will execute a specific function. Fortunately, there is a tutorial mode prior to play which familiarizes the player with these commands.

The graphics are presented from a side view which focuses on Kim. Excellent animated graphics which bear resemblance to the popular television show are seen in the game which makes for a good visual experience. The game also features full motion video snippets in between stages which, while a good feature, can experience some slow down and choppiness during playback. It is possible that their compression rate was not set at a high enough level to be brought into the Gameboy's capabilities. The soundtrack features musical scores based on those heard in the television series and basic sound effects to coincide with action or other movements.

Overall, Kim Possible 2 would likely appeal to fans of the series and to younger individuals outside of this fanbase. It is a good, albeit easy, platform release with a great variety of stages.

Summary: Thumbs up
