F- Zero Maximum Velocity is a racing game for the Gameboy Advance developed by Nintendo.

The games main mode is the Grand Prix mode where you will take part in racing events set after the events of the original F-Zero so you won't find any of your favourite like Captain Falcon in the game which is a little disappointing!

The game allows you to pick from a set of four futuristic craft, each is named like Fire Ball, Hot Violet and has different stats like the top speed with and without boost, how long you can use boost, how tough it is and how well it turns. It is up to you to pick which one you feel is best for your playstyle.

The game takes part in series of races, pawn, knight and bishop with 15 drivers which is quite impressive for the Gameboy Advance, the tracks are challenging and contain many obstacles for you to bump into and even jumps where you can leap over the edge of the track and blow up if you are not careful enough.

The vehicles are actually quite tough to get to grips with, you have an energy bar which represents your shield and once it is gone you will explode. You must run over the green zones on the track to replenish your shield. To steer you can use the L and R buttons to lean in to the turn in addition to the control pad which will really help you around the tight turns.

At the end of a lap you will be awarded some boost which will allow you to go much faster there is a little strategy as you can save your boost if you want so on the last lap you can have up to three boost power ups at the ready. The racing is fast and exciting especially when you finally nail the corners well and boost your way to victory.

Graphics are quite good the game uses a basic 3D engine to quite good effect, nothing to impressive mind you!

F Zero Maximum Velocity is a fun racing game and if you are seeking high speed thrills you should try it out!
