It is finally here. After over a year of waiting and anticipation the hand held gamers dream is now a reality.

I preordered my gba (gameboy advance) which was a very good idea because it did not just mean that I got it as soon as it came but it also meant thet I got it £10 cheaper than everyone else.

Unlike the gameboy and gameboy color the gba is held on its side which makes it a lot easier for those with large hands. Another great addition is that two shoulder buttons have been added. This will allow games to be more complex as there will be a wider ranger of combination which are evidentely put to use in Tony Hawks Pro Skater. The screen on the gba is a lot wider than the gb and is slightly sharper. This allows for better graphics.

The gba like the gb takes two aa batteries but they last five hours longer. A dissapointing factor of the gba is that its screen is not back lit which means you have to play in bright conditions. Although this keeps the price down and lengthens the battery life it was one of the things that many people wished to of changed from the gb's design. This problem can be easily fixed by bying a wormlight which attaches to the side of the gba.

The gba is four times more powerful than the gb giving the gba games the opportunity to be a lot more complex and look a lot nicer.

It has been promised that the gba will be strongly based on multiplayer gaming which will hopefully evident with the release of the new racing game called Mario Kart Super Circuit.

The library of gba games at the moment is not huge but this is rapidly changing with the release of games such as mario kart and donkey kong.

The gba is backward compatible with all gb and gbc games will still work on the gba. This is great as it means you wont have wasted your money when you bought all the gb and gbc games.

Overall the gameboy advance is an outstanding hand held games console that offers great
sound, great graphics and best of all great gameplay.
