... train, that i thought i'd give them a go. What i liked most about Harry Potter was the imaginative storyline, that is so fantastically ridiculous (in a great way) but also immensely absorbing. I could not put the book down. All three main chracters - Harry (of course), Ron and Hermionie -are great, and the badies like Snape give the book a balance. My paeticular favourite is bossy goody two shoes Hermionie who is also very nice. It's good to have a strong female chracter in children's books. Overall, i loved it. I...more

I received Harry Potter and a Game Boy Advance on Christmas. I must admit I am an addict to the books, but when I went to see the film, I found myself a little disappointed. It didnt stay true to the story and skipped many scenes. However, I was sure that the game would more than redeem itself. Having read the instructions, I felt it would be quite a good game, as you have to play in quidditch matches, learn spells and go on quests around the school. Anyway, I turned it on and my first impressions were, "hmmm, a little sloppy". You meat Ron on the first floor, he tells you a sloppy dialogue about how Hermione is a boff and you need to go to a lesson on the ...  Read the complete review

Hey, I haven't written a review for ages. This is in fact my first one in about a fortnight. This is because my p.c broke down and i was stranded with no dooyoo. I know that all you madl;ads fans out there have been depressed since my P.C broke (and there is a lot of them. or not.) but now I am back in bussiness BABY! So, at first I hated anything to do with harry potter. I hated him, his books, J.K rowling, His merchandise and other stuff. I thought that the books were childish and stupid. I'd always hated Sci-Fi stuff and I especially hated childrens books about witchcraft. They were alweays stupid like 'the worst witch' etc. (for those of you ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone (GBA): Harry failed us! (438 words)

I’m sure (unless you have been asleep for the past few years) you would’ve heard of a boy called Harry Potter. His books are a great success throughout the world and merchandise is every where, so like every human being I was awaiting the Harry Potter game with great anticipation. On first sight it looks like a very decent game. Good graphics, intressting charaters but on closer inspection it is a very disappointing. Strange controls, limited area and repeatative scenarios are the only thing this game has. I was especially looking forward to flying on a broomstick personnly I could think of nothing better than soaring threw the sky, but sadly they ...  Read the complete review

Harry Potter on the Philosophers Stone on GBA is much better than the PS1 version I must say why? Well you see the graphics are not great but the GBA covers more than the PS1 does and you have to fight and get your level up but the PS1 version you dont it is to easy on the PS1 but the GBA version conquers all Harry Potter Games because it is harder! (1)First of all you actually start of in Diagon ally on the GBA but on the PS1 you somehow start at Hogwarts. (2) On the PS1 there are 2 floors but on the GBA there are seven. (3) On the PS1 you dont gain levels but on the GBA you do. (4)On PS1 it shows stuff which is not in the book Harry Potter and the ...  Read the complete review

It took me a while to pick up one of these books. I'd seen a few of the films and obviously was aware of the hype around the books (i dont think anyone doesn't know what harry potter is), but it wasn't until i saw a grown man in a suit reading one of the books on the train, that i thought i'd give them a go.
