Advantages: Great chracters and imaginative storyline

It took me a while to pick up one of these books. I'd seen a few of the films and obviously was aware of the hype around the books (i dont think anyone doesn't know what harry potter is), but it wasn't until i saw a grown man in a suit reading one of the books on the train, that i thought i'd give them a go.

What i liked most about Harry Potter was the imaginative storyline, that is so fantastically ridiculous (in a great way) but also immensely absorbing. I could not put the book down.

All three main chracters - Harry (of course), Ron and Hermionie -are great, and the badies like Snape give the book a balance. My paeticular favourite is bossy goody two shoes Hermionie who is also very nice. It's good to have a strong female chracter in children's books.

Overall, i loved it. I will deffinately be reading the other books in the series asap!
