"Ice Climber" is a video game released for the Gameboy Advance console in 2004 by Nintendo. It is a part of the "Classic NES Series" which ported earlier Nintendo titles to a more modern platform. In the United States, the game received a rating of "E" by the ESRB panel which deemed it suitable for all ages. Ice Climber originally saw success on the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1985. In it, players control a young child wearing Eskimo clothing with the objective of climbing up mountains. Had it not been for the inclusion of the playable characters Popo and Nana in Super Smash Bros. Melee, the Game Boy Advance, and then the Wii Virtual Console, would not have seen to another release of Ice Climber. On the Game Boy Advance, the game comes under NES Classics - though the series was short-lived, I didn't mind the release of NES games to the GBA (since the NES was such a kick-ass console), but to suggest Ice Climber was a classic? I don't think so Nintendo. Ice Climber is an upwards-scrolling platformer whereby jumping at a platform from underneath allows the above block to be removed with the hammer.
