I bought Killer 3D Pool for my Gameboy Advance as I am a big fan of pool, thought this would be good to kill a few hours on the commute to work and it was very cheap (£9.99).

Once I started playing the game I really wished I could have got my money back. This has to be one of the worst video games I have ever had the 'pleasure' of playing. The CPU characters are almost unbeatable, I think I managed to beat them a handful of times in the two or three months I played it. I often found myself getting 6 or 7 balled in games against the computer.

The controls are terrible and almost unpredictable. You spend time painstakingly setting your cue position and shot strength only for the cue ball to cannon wildly off in another direction. All this even with the fact that the game provides you with a feint line which shows the direction the ball should take. Good stuff.

There are four different variations of pool available on this: English 8 Ball, US 8 Ball, US 9 Ball and Killer. There are all equally poor.

I was so embarassed by this game that I never tried to play it as a multiplayer (it's turn based so you only need one gameboy and one game disk) but the option is there if you want it. Which you probably won't though.

There are some really great pool games that are available online so the fact that a game that is on sale and is dedicated to pool is so rubbish is surprising and disappointing.

Summary: Do not buy this game. Ever.
