"Killer 3D Pool" is a video game released for the Gameboy Advance console in 2005 by Zoo Digital Publishing. It is a sports title with billiards being represented. In the United States, the game received a rating of "E" by the ESRB panel which deemed it suitable for all ages.
Killer 3D Pool is a game which was stripped down to the bare essentials. There is no tournament mode, career, statistics or any "additional" features. Players of this title simply choose a mode which they wish to compete in from 8-Ball Pool, 9-Ball Pool and "Killer" mode. The Killer mode features 15 identical balls on the table and it is the player's objective to pocket one ball each turn. Should the player fail to pocket a ball then this would incur a foul and the player has up to eight foul shots per round before being disqualified. The difficulty in this title is very high. Computer opponents were programmed as being nearly unbeatable and will pocket shots approximately every one out of three shots.
The graphics are presented from an isometric perspective which focuses on the player's cue. The image will rotate frequently though the white cue ball will always remain as the focal point. A small dotted line will project from the ball to suggest where the ball will roll at set strengths of hit. The pool table is traditionally designed with a green base and brown surroundings. The soundtrack is confined to simple striking sounds and ball movement.
Overall, Killer 3D Pool is a game I would be hesitant about recommending to prospective buyers. It is a very difficult challenge and would test even the best of virtual sharks. I do enjoy playing this title but do find the higher difficulty setting to be incredibly frustrating at times.
Summary: Thumbs in the middle
