A speedy racer will have a higher top speed which allows them to zip ahead at times but a racer with more weight can bash into the others and send them off course and make them drop coins. The game allows you to pick from a few difficulties from 50- 150CC, this affects the speed of your Karts so if you are a new player you will probably want to go for the slower 50CC series. Crowned Review Mario Kart Super Circuit (GBA): The best reason to buy a Game Boy Advance (3993 words)
by - written on 15/09/01 (Very useful, 803 readings)
Rating:

Actually the best reason to buy a Game Boy Advance would be if the shop was giving them away free but until you find an offer like that this game comes close. Perhaps the most awaited game on the Game Boy Advance, Mario Kart Super Circuit is certainly one of the most fun. The game takes elements out of Mario Kart 64 on the N64 and adds them to the original Super Mario Kart from the SNES, the result is a game with many of the best elements of both games. This game is often given as the reason for the reason the L and R buttons were added to the Game Boy Advance and is easy to imagine that it is true. This opinion is going to be split into 3 parts. Mario Kart Super Circuit is a racing game for the Gameboy Advance developed by Nintendo. The game doesn't have any storyline to it is purely an arcade racing experience. You can just take each of your favourite Mario characters through a series of Grand Prix events and cups, do some time trials, play a quick game or play in the multiplayer mode with a friend. The character selection is quite good with Mario favourites like Mario himself, Luigi his brother, Princess Peach, Yoshi, Bowser, Wario and Toad all making an appearance. Each of the racers has different stats for weight and speed so you have some fast characters like Toad and some ...  Read the complete review

The gameplay of this title resembles the earlier "Mario Kart" video game for the Super Nintendo console. The player will select a popular character from the "Super Mario Brothers" series and compete in numerous Grand Prix style tournaments, known as the "Mario GP" mode, to achieve accolades by the way of ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Simple... Fun or just Tedious? (2096 words)

Mario Kart: Super Circuit: Nintendo have really been pushing their Game Boy Advanced and SP consoles recently, I personally have an Advanced because I do not play in the dark and have no purpose for the light that will set you back an extra Ł20-35. Mario a classic character from the platform serious has picked up so many ?friends? over the time and some of them race in this game against each other, it?s a simple first over the line wins. But things are never has simple as a normal race with power-ups available around the track to try and knock your opponents of track and slow them down. Made by Nintendo so a very high reputation comes with ...  Read the complete review

Owners of the super Nintendo entertainment system (snes) will already be familiar with the concept that is Mario kart. There have been several stages of this game as it moves through the various consoles Nintendo has brought out. Life for Mario kart started on the snes. For those times it was cutting edge and was one of the reasons for owning a snes. After its debut and with the release of the Nintendo 64, Mario kart 64 was released. This game "wow"ed us all with its superior polygon based graphics and terrain. It still had all the style of the original and the classic racing and battle modes. The latest addition the series is Mario kart super circuit. It ...  Read the complete review
