Advantages: Classic, untweaked Mario Kart.

Disadvantages: May feel a little dated now. People can be cruel.

If Mario Kart DS is the best Mario Kart game so far, then Super Circuit is possibly the second best, as well as the least recognised. Super Circuit is, once again, Mario Kart at its most basic, and yet at its finest.

The eight racers from Mario Kart 64 (Mario, Luigi, Peach, DK, Toad, Yoshi, Bowser and Wario) are present, racing over four cups and 16 tracks (with a hidden bonus I'll address shortly). Alongside the basic Grand Prix mode are Time Trial and Quick Run options and some multiplayer extras (including Balloon Battle).

While it may lack MK DS's online gameplay, Super Circuit was one of the earliest titles to operate with the one cartridge, many players idea that began with the GBA. However, it is worth pointing out this was by no means perfect. Memory limitations of the system mean that only four tracks are selectable and all four players' characters are differently coloured Yoshi.

MK:SC is also a great treat for nostalgia lovers, as all 16 original SNES tracks have been ported to the game and are unlockable.

It may not quite be as sharp as MK:DS, but this is a bargain purchase for fans of the series and young gamers.

Summary: The GBA's only Mario Kart outing was a cracker with stunning tracks - old and new.
