Mario Kart Super Circuit is a racing game for the Gameboy Advance
developed by Nintendo.

The game doesn't have any storyline to it is purely an arcade racing experience. You can just take each of your favourite Mario characters through a series of Grand Prix events and cups, do some time trials, play a quick game or play in the multiplayer mode with a friend.

The character selection is quite good with Mario favourites like Mario himself, Luigi his brother, Princess Peach, Yoshi, Bowser, Wario and Toad all making an appearance. Each of the racers has different stats for weight and speed so you have some fast characters like Toad and some slower racers like King Koopa Bowser! A speedy racer will have a higher top speed which allows them to zip ahead at times but a racer with more weight can bash into the others and send them off course and make them drop coins.

The game allows you to pick from a few difficulties from 50- 150CC, this affects the speed of your Karts so if you are a new player you will probably want to go for the slower 50CC series. The cups also range in difficulty though fans will be happy that the track selection brings back favourites from the NES and SNES games.

The racing action is largely dominated by powerups you can get pickups like mushrooms which will give you a turbo boost, banana skins to make your opponents spin out all the way to a starman who will make you invincible! The powerups to favour people who are doing poorly so if you are in 1st you only get things like banana skins!

The game also includes a coins system, on track you will spot several coin pick ups and must pick them up as each one will slightly increase your speed.

Graphics are decent but not in proper 3D, the characters have been updated with little sounds they make when you hit an opponent or win.

If you want a fun easy to pick up and play racing game, Mario Kart Super Circuit is an excellent game.

Summary: A great racing game.
