Advantages: Fast, Furious, GBA's dream game

Disadvantages: erm a little small

It was obvious to me by turning on the game I was playing a game of pure brilliance it looked as if so much effort had gone into making this right. I was right this is a special game it is undoubtedly the best Gameboy Advanced title out that should have been a launch title. Well it is true what they say good things come to those who wait.

For starters lets put things straight this isn’t a remake of the SNES version nor is it a remake of the N64 version, this is a brand new Mario Kart title that successfully combines the two to create what feels like the best of the series. All the characters are back from Mario to Wario and the tracks are so well designed it puts other racing games to shame.

The graphics are no 64 but the detail used in the background is something that betters both of the games prequels and these are the graphics the Gameboy Advance was supposed to handle. The super slick handling and the smooth run of play makes the gameplay just as fast and furious as usual. The music is in fact better, the cool fish giving trophy music is still here and with the new jazzed up invincibility music is great. Falling in to the rivers or lava is less frustrating now with the movement onto the track mush quicker and it all runs brilliantly. The AI no longer unfairly wins and skill is required more heavily than luck, which is a big difference from the other two. The red shells are smarter but slower and all these extras combined makes a brand new gaming experience never before reached on a handheld.

The Multiplayer is back with a vengeance the normal and excellent race mode is here as usual and Nintendo has somehow managed to cram the excellent balloon bursting mode in which was so popular on the N64. Also you only need one cart to play it! That’s right two (or three or four) GBA owning friends, one 4-way link cable and one cart is all you need to enjoy the brilliant Multiplayer that is just as good as the hugely successful N64 one
. Yet as usual you won’t have full access to all the tracks or characters if you only use 1 cart so you really need 4 to enjoy the whole experience.

So there we have it Mario Kart Super Circuit in a nutshell, the Gameplay as good if not better than usual. If you have a Gameboy Advance you MUST own this game, not only is it the best Gameboy Advanced game on the market is handheld gaming finally brought to the next level.
