Advantages: fun, different to other pokemon games

Disadvantages: becomes repetitive as time passes

Pokemon : Pinball Ruby and Sapphire is a spinoff game form the pokemon franchise for GBA. The GBA format means it can be played on GBA, SP, DS and DS Lite.

There are two boards to choose to play on, I personally think Sapphire is the easier one and I prefer it.

The game is of course a pinball style game in which the ball is a pokeball. Using the flippers to keep the ball in play you must hit certain targets to initiate capture mode, evolve pokemon and enter bonus stages. You can also upgrade your pokeball by hitting certain spots and doing so increases the coins you get.

Once you catch a certain number of pokemon you enter a boss stage there are several different ones and what you must do to win varies between each one.

Coins you earn can be used to purchase items at the mart, including a ball upgrade, pikachu's that stop you losing your ball if it bypasses the flippers and extra lives.

The aim of the game is to catch as many different pokemon as you can and to get the highest score. It is great fun and i recommend it to pokemon fans

Summary: Catch pokemon, evolve them and get the highs score

It has a lot of interesting elements to it that really tie into the pokemon games. i'd rather see a new updated version of the card game introduced for handhelds
