This is where the Pokemon franchise began. Pokemon Red, and its counterpart Pokemon Blue were released on October 5th 1999 in the UK, and it's fair to say they revolutionised modern handheld gaming. For those of you that don't know about the Pokemon franchise in general, I've written another review on here covering the basics. Pokemon Red starts off with you beginning your journey as a pokemon trainer. Obviously, the first thing you need as a trainer is an actual pokemon to train, so your first destination is the laboratory belonging to Professor Oak (basically, a kind of Dr Dolittle character, but without the actual talking to animals bit) , ... Pokemon red and blue are the first installments of the pokemon role playing game series. It was released in 1999 and was a big hit! It was first made for the game boy and leater remade for the game boy advance called pokemon leafgreen and pokemon firered, wich was released in 2004. I personally had pokemon red and never knew anyone who had any of the others so i couldnt trade pokemon and that kind of sucked. In the world of pokemon red you are playing the role as a pokemon trainer in the world of Kanto. You choose which is your first pokemon either charmander, balbasar and squrtle (i cant believe i still remember themm all, though im sure some are spelt ... Read the complete review

This is not an easy task - some of the pokemon only appear once, so you've got to be wise about some of the moves you use in order to weaken it, which will make the catch easier. The in-game save function is great - no passwords are required and the game usually loads up without a problem. Quite amazing that everything fits on thiss one cart!! To catch your first pokemon, you have to weaken it using moves which your starter pokemon has got. Be careful not to ... Read the complete review
