Advantages: Another good game

Disadvantages: Same as most other Pokemon games!

Pokémon Ruby is part of the very successful Pokémon series which has included trading cards, a rubbish TV show, movies and video games! This is one of the video games for the Game Boy Advance.

Pokémon games are role playing games (RPGS) and are developed by Nintendo. The story is similar to other Pokémon games where you start off as a rookie trainer in Hoenn (the region) You then get your first Pokémon and you go on a quest to win the Pokémon League and catch them all! Along the way you will come across the bad guys: Team Magma and Team Aqua who are both trying to destroy the world. Aqua are going to do this with a legendary water Pokémon while Magma using a fire Pokémon.

The game also adds lots of new Pokémon so your quest to catch them all will become a little bit harder. The new Pokémon are in general quite good and all of them look interesting! This game also has Pokémon contests where you try to amaze judges by how cute, strong, smart your Pokémon is! This game also allows you to make berries for the first time and has many other changes like double battles.

The graphics for the game are OK and are good enough and are nice and colourful. The music in my opinion is pretty bad though and I probably would turn the sound off as it gets annoying and repetitive after a while!

Overall Pokémon Ruby is another good Pokémon game and is well worth getting if you are a fan.

However if you are new to the series I would recommend getting one of the DS games as they have more Pokémon, have better graphics and good online features. I would recommend Diamond or Pearl (see my Diamond review if interested ;) or the newer Platinum game though I have not played it!
