Advantages: None.

Disadvantages: boring lightsaber combat, cheap enemies, terrible platforming, horrible 3D chase sequences

Star Wars Episode 2 is an action game for the Gameboy Advance developed by Lucasarts.

The game follows the story of the Star Wars Episode 2: Attack of the clones. This follows starts with the chase of an assassin who is trying to kill Padme and as the story progresses leading you through many encounters with villains such as Jango Fett you will find out about the Clone army being created for the Jedi and eventually even face off against Count Dooku. The storyline is actually very condensed in this game not developing the relationship between Padme and Anakin at all, you should probably see the film for the best experience.

The gameplay allows you to control a Jedi hero, you start out with Anakin but later in the game you will take control of Obi Wan and Mace Windu.
You are armed with your trusty lightsaber but they have made it incredibly dull to use, you can slash with it while running but when standing still you have to press the up, right and down buttons to perform lightsaber moves, you also can't really string together any sort of combo attacks which is disappointing.

The enemies in the game are really cheap with basic soldiers who will run up to you while there will be droids that shoot which makes you need to block though your character takes around 3 seconds to raise his lightsaber in defence so you usually get hit! You can only really focus on one of the enemy types at once so the game forces you to either attempt to block fire from droids and get beat up by soldiers or take out soldiers and get blasted so either way you will lose some life!

The platforming in the game is terrible, it often requires you to use your force jump to navigate to higher ground but the characters are so imprecise you will end up falling to your doom half the time which results in you having to restart a level from the beginning. There are some vehicle chases too, the speeder chase in the city is one of them and is just as bad as the rest of the game featuring a terrible 3D engine and dull action.

Graphics are fairly decent during the side scrolling portions of the game but animations for your lightsaber are poor, the 3D sections are laughable though the Gameboy Advance was never that good with 3D.

Star Wars Episode 2 is a very disappointing action game with absolutely no redeeming qualities.

Summary: A horrible Star Wars game.
