Advantages: Best game 2D game EVER!, Awesome music!!!!, Everything!
Disadvantages: GBA can handle better graphics.
Ready for some pure adrenaline filled, classic Mario action! Super Mario Advance 2 is a remake of Mario?s greatest 2D adventure EVER! This is a legend of a title, it managed to face off against 3 Sonic sequels, it introduced the world to everyone?s favourite green dinosaur Yoshi and it is, even today, the pinnacle of 2D platforming. Same old story, the Princess has disappeared? kidnapped once again by the evil king Bowser. You gain the assistance of Yoshi, a Dinosaur on the search of his friends who too have been taken by Bowser?s minions. Classic Cliché filled storyline aside, this truly does manage to beat its predecessor Super Mario Brothers 3 mainly due to its varied locations, ingenious ideas and brand new power ups. Mario can now fly (well float) with the aid of the feather and fire flowers enable the plumber to fire errr fire. Luigi is back with the ability to engage in one of a kind two player cooperative! This title features over 96 exits all leading onto their own secrets, from the mystical star road, mountain levels and of course the individual worlds, you wont tire of this game for a while. Mario tunes aplenty with variations on a theme and completely new tunes that are now seen as normal Mario noises despite not appearing in the previous 6 Mario games. Super Mario World was reason alone to buy a SNES and in many peoples eyes this is the greatest game of all time. Yet how does it translate onto the GBA? Well as great looking, as the SNES game was the GBA can do more, and so seeing identical colourful yet nothing spectacular graphics isn?t the most promising sign, is this just another identical port? Well no to start with you are playing this on a handheld console, you are literally taking one of the best game in the world wherever you go! Second like Mario Advance the original Mario Brothers game is added so you can link up and battle against your friends as well as co-operative. Also the beginning sequence is new telling the tale a l
ittle more, and Luigi who before was a clone of Mario is now slower but can jump higher and you can choose to play as him in single player so no need for co-operative. So there are difference although minor, yet why are we complaining a port of the greatest 2D game of the world is still a port of the greatest 2D game of the world! So surly with the extras this is even better than the greatest 2D game in the world? All the classic stuff is here, the varying Yoshi colours in Star Road, the secret routes, the comical scenes when Mario blows up a castle, the brain taxing ghost levels and most of all the world renown addictive gameplay. Brilliant sounds, great graphics (although GBA can do more) and the worlds best gameplay as usual! Nintendo it?s a port, but we love it so much we?ll let you off? again. Dringo.
