... to past game in this way as I think that this is part of the 'charm' of the better Mario games. The graphics are both simple and efficient to their purpose, each world is decorated in a detailed and colourful way and the game is drawn up in a cartoon display just like past Mario games. The Mario level music is also very similar to the old Mario games. This is great for Mario fans, as the music on older games is unique to Mario games and easily recognised as it is upbeat and catchy. The tempo of the music increases i...more

Super Mario Advance 4 (GBA): Super Mario Advance 4- Take Mario with you, out of the house ... (1300 words)

I grew up playing games on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES), most of my favourite games when I was younger included my favourite plumbers Mario and Luigi and their dinosaur friend Yoshi, and of course Princess Peach, who always seems to be running into bad luck and getting captured by the villain in this game King Bowser. I honestly spent hours trying to rescue the Princess in games such as Super Mario Bros 1, 2 and 3, Super Mario World 1 and 2, The Lost Levels and of course Mario 64 when Mario became for 'advanced' on the Nintendo 64 console. The Mario Franchise has brought gamers worldwide countless hours of entertainment, and their games were one of my ..  Read the complete review

Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3 is, among other things, a mouthful to name. Don't let that put you off though, it's a great game. The original Super Mario Bros. 3 on the Nintendo Entertainment System was the final entry in the Super Mario Bros. series (excluding remakes) until New Super Mario Bros. on the DS in 2006. Super Mario Bros. 3 is the culmination of a lot of good ideas. It takes the basic gameplay of the original Super Mario Bros. and incorporates some of the developments in platforming in the years since. The game places you once again in control of Mario and Luigi, on a mission to save Princess Peach. She has been abducted by Bowser ...  Read the complete review

Super Mario Advance 4 (GBA): Mama Mia, another great game! (400 words)

Super Mario Advance 4 is a platforming game for the Gameboy Advance. The storyline follows the two Mario Brothers who are on a journey around the Mushroom kingdom to rescue the various rulers that have been kidnapped by Bowsers Koopa Kids! Well at least Peach has managed to avoid getting herself kidnapped this time around! If you expect an excellent story from this game, you are playing the wrong game series! Again you get a hub world where you can see where you have to go to and how many levels stand in your way, with each you clear you will then be able to journey to the next one till you reach the castle, when a castle is cleared you will be able ...  Read the complete review

Best mario 3 out there (175 words)

Rating:

When the SNES came out one of the best games out was Mario 3. But this tops even that version. Super Mario Advance 4 is a combo of two mario titles: Super Mario 3 and the original Mario Brothers. The game features the full versions of both AND so much more. With two players attached via the gameboy link cable you can battle each other in Mario Brothers. Additionally in Super Mario 3 you can play as Mario or Mario and Luigi. If you are lucky enough to own the eReader device and some Mario 3 cards you can add extra levels and items for that edge in Super Mario 3. The controls are crisp and feel like the old Dpad controls of the NES and SNES. The ...  Read the complete review
