... game in this way as I think that this is part of the 'charm' of the better Mario games. The graphics are both simple and efficient to their purpose, each world is decorated in a detailed and colourful way and the game is drawn up in a cartoon display just like past Mario games. The Mario level music is also very similar to the old Mario games. This is great for Mario fans, as the music on older games is unique to Mario games and easily recognised as it is upbeat and catchy. This game is for the Gameboy Advance, ...more

Crowned ReviewSuper Mario Advance (GBA): Can't someone invent these titles for me? (2823 words)
by - written on 06/08/01, updated on  06/08/01 (Very useful, 136 readings)

As you may guess I'm terrible at thinking up titles for my opinions, I think in future I'm just going to pick a random sentence out of the book/film/instruction manual (although this may end up leading to titles such as "It hasn't snowed up here for months." or "Press A to jump."). Hmm... I guess I should talk about the game now anyway... Just about every new console Nintendo has launched has been released with a new Mario game, the NES had Super Mario Bros, the SNES had Super Mario World, the Game Boy had Super Mario Land, the N64 had Super Mario 64 and the Game Boy Advance has now got Super Mario Advance, unfortunately however ...  Read the complete review

Super Mario Advance GBA- a classic in your pocket! (1033 words)

Rating:

I grew up playing games on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES), most of my favourite games when I was younger included my favourite plumbers Mario and Luigi and their dinosaur friend Yoshi, and of course Princess Peach, who always seems to be running into bad luck and getting captured by the villain in this game King Bowser. I honestly spent hours trying to rescue the Princess in games such as Super Mario Bros 1, 2 and 3, Super Mario World 1 and 2, The Lost Levels and of course Mario 64 when Mario became for 'advanced' on the Nintendo 64 console. The Mario Franchise has brought gamers worldwide countless hours of entertainment, and their games were one of my ..  Read the complete review

Super Mario Advance (GBA): Super mario bros 2! (494 words)
by - written on 16/03/10 (Very useful, 8 readings)
Rating:

This game is a remake of super mario bros 2 which was orinally on the nes. It also includes the mario bros arcade game which can be played in either single player or multiplayer. Super mario bros 2 was released in 1988 and is significantly different then any other mario game. This is because it is not actual a mario game but was originally a japanese game called Yume Kōjō: Doki Doki Panic. The 4 main characters were replaced with mario, luigi, princess peach and toad. The enemies were not changed so shy guy was not orginally a mario character. The games gameplay is significantly different. Enemies are not killed by jumping on them. Most enemies ...  Read the complete review

Mario jumps onto the Gameboy Advance! (342 words)
by - written on 22/08/09 (Very useful, 4 readings)
Rating:

Super Mario Advance is a platforming adventure for the Gameboy Advance. The games story is very basic as with the other Mario games, there is an evil Toad called Wart who is terrorizing the land of dreams which may or may not be real and Mario and his friends must journey through the world and defeat the giant toad king! Ah well, at least Peach doesn't need rescuing in this one! The gameplay is actually quite different to the other classic Mario titles, for a start you can now pick the character you want to play as before entering a level. You can pick from Mario who is the all round guy with good strength and speed and jumps well, Toad who is ...  Read the complete review

Super Mario Advance (GBA): Amazingly, even better than the original SNES game (521 words)
by - written on 22/02/02, updated on  22/02/02 (Very useful, 28 readings)
Rating:

It would have seemed unbelievable nine years ago to think that the Super Nintendo racing classic Super Mario Kart would ever appear on a handheld. However, to prove any sceptics wrong, Mario Kart Super Circuit has been released on the Game Boy Advance and, amazingly, is even better than the original SNES game. Before the racing gets under way, you first have to make selections from the snappy intro screens. After choosing a player, you have to decide upon the Kart's engine size and also the track and tournament to race in. Along with the famous plumber, seven other familiar Nintendo characters can be chosen from, each offering various skills and driving ...  Read the complete review
