"Trollz: Hair Affair" is a video game released for the Gameboy Advance console in 2005 by Ubisoft. It is based on a recent children's animated series. In the United States, the game received a rating of "E" by the ESRB panel which deemed it suitable for all ages.

The gameplay of this title revolves around the boy trolls cheating on a school exam. They must prove their innocence or be excluded and sent to a local military school where they will lose their prized hair. It is up to the girls to assist the boys in proving their innocence, and is accomplished through a set of five mini games. A basic storyboard connects the goings-on in between the mini games and after successfully completing the set will reveal ultimately what happens to the boy trolls. The games of this title include "Watch the Hair" (player travels from left to right numerous times as a strand of hair is untangled), "Smarty Trollz" (memory matching), "Trollz Dance" (A dance type game which requires the player to input a series of buttons as requested), "Flying Spell" (an arcade like game which requires the player to dodge floating objects), and "Spell Beadz" (Another arcade game which requires the player to match coloured balls in a series of three to remove them from play). I found each game to be very simple in execution and was not presented with any sort of challenge.

The graphics are presented from a side perspective which focuses on the game in play. In keeping with a younger market, I found the images to be very brightly drawn and features large character sprites in the storyline scenes. As hair is the central theme in this game, each hairstyle is quite odd and frequently fills the display. The soundtrack is quite uninspired with short, repetitive musical scores and "beeping" sound effects following the player throughout.

Overall, Hair Affair seems to be a game geared towards younger children. I found the game to be too simple for my preference and would be hesitant about recommending it on a wider scale.

Summary: Thumbs in the middle
