The Classy favourite from 1995 is back, this time under the label of Super Mario World 3: Yoshi's Island (the original being no.2) for Nintendo's Gameboy Advance (2002) instead of the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES). Found used between 5 and 10 pounds, you can pick up an complete bargain game with real heritage. The title may say Mario World, but his involvement is minimal, yet essential to all the Yoshi's - dinosaur like creatures that can eject their tongue for an attack, eating coins for points or enemies to convert into eggs, which in turn are used to fire at various targets, ricocheting off walls and causing all sorts of havoc. The Yoshi's can also use ... Read the complete review

I grew up playing games on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES), most of my favourite games when I was younger included my favourite plumbers Mario and Luigi and their dinosaur friend Yoshi, and of course Princess Peach, who always seems to be running into bad luck and getting captured by the villain in this game King Bowser. I honestly spent hours trying to rescue the Princess in games such as Super Mario Bros 1, 2 and 3, Super Mario World 1 and 2, The Lost Levels and of course Mario 64 when Mario became for 'advanced' on the Nintendo 64 console. The Mario Franchise has brought gamers worldwide countless hours of entertainment, and their games were one of my .. Read the complete review

Yoshi's Island is the next stop in my retro tour of classic Game Boy Advance games. The original Yoshi's Island, a sequel to Super Mario Land, was a smash hit on the SNES. It had superb yet original gameplay ideas and utilised the SuperFX chip in its cartridge to provide some of the most beautiful visuals the series ever saw. It's generally regarded as a highlight of the vintage Mario games and this version recreates the experience authentically on the Game Boy Advance. The backstory here is more involved than in days gone by and pushes the series in new directions. A prequel to all other Mario games, Yoshi's island begins with an evil sorcerer intercepting ... In 1995 towards the end days of the SNES, Nintendo released its final 2D platform game before branching off into the world of 3D with Mario 64. Yoshi?s Island was the self styled prequel, though billed as a sequel, to Super Mario World. The game begins with a stalk carrying two babies, namely Mario and Luigi. However Kamek, Koopa?s evil bird wizard type thing, knows that these two brothers will cause trouble for Koopa in the future and so aims to kidnap them both. The henchmen make off with Luigi but Mario falls downward to the earth below, facing sudden death, if it wasn?t ... Read the complete review

Super Mario Advance 3 is a platforming game for the Gameboy Advance. This game is actually Yoshis Island and follows the story of Yoshi as he helps Baby Mario be re united with his brother Baby Luigi who is trapped in the evil wizard Kameks castle. There is actually a little more storyline in this game than the others as you will actually get some text rather explaining some things to you. Still it is very basic and cliché as Peach has basically been replaced by Baby Luigi! Another gamplay element that has really changed is the playable character, there is no playable Mario or Luigi in this game but don't fret you get to control different coloured ...
