... really changed is the playable character, there is no playable Mario or Luigi in this game but don't fret you get to control different coloured Yoshi but unlike in Mario Advance 2 the colour has no effect on the different abilities that Yoshi has. Yoshi can hover in mid air for a while and has some really unique attacks that Mario never had. You can use your tongue to grab enemies and swallow them turning them into eggs! Yoshi can also fire these eggs out at enemies or use them to activate switches that you cant reach....more

Premium Review Yoshi's Island - Super Mario Advance 3 (GBA): Mario Jr (1439 words)

In 1995 towards the end days of the SNES, Nintendo released its final 2D platform game before branching off into the world of 3D with Mario 64. Yoshi?s Island was the self styled prequel, though billed as a sequel, to Super Mario World. The game begins with a stalk carrying two babies, namely Mario and Luigi. However Kamek, Koopa?s evil bird wizard type thing, knows that these two brothers will cause trouble for Koopa in the future and so aims to kidnap them both. The henchmen make off with Luigi but Mario falls downward to the earth below, facing sudden death, if it wasn?t ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Yoshis Island! (354 words)

Super Mario Advance 3 is a platforming game for the Gameboy Advance. This game is actually Yoshis Island and follows the story of Yoshi as he helps Baby Mario be re united with his brother Baby Luigi who is trapped in the evil wizard Kameks castle. There is actually a little more storyline in this game than the others as you will actually get some text rather explaining some things to you. Still it is very basic and cliché as Peach has basically been replaced by Baby Luigi! Another gamplay element that has really changed is the playable character, there is no playable Mario or Luigi in this game but don't fret you get to control different coloured ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Yoshi's Island - Super Mario Advance 3 (GBA): Yoshi's extremely big island. (167 words)

I originally bought this game out of a lack of good games on the market at the time and it is so different from previous Mario titles. From the cover it seems to be aimed more at a younger audience due to the multi coloured pink and cyan dinosaurs with babies and colourful clouds and images dotted all over the cover. However it is actually quite challenging and really does take some time and effort to complete. I usually complete games in a day or so but this game really grabbed I and its fun but simple control layout mean young and old can both enjoy the title without any major difficulty. Speaking of difficulty this is where a bad point comes in, there is ...  Read the complete review

This is an excellent game, at first I seriously doubt how on IGN and Gamespot they had rated it so high, but like me, if you love the Mario games, equally you will Love Yoshi's Island. In this game Yoshi has to look after baby Mario. The aim is to get to the next level, in order to eventually rescue baby Luigi who has been kidnapped by Koopa. Every time you complete a level, you pass baby Mario onto the next Yoshi & so on. It is similar to Mario, and while it is just as challenging there are a few perks which makes this almost better. For example, Yoshi who has to look after little baby Mario is almost invincible & only ever ...  Read the complete review

The prequel to Super Mario World. Many gamers were turned off by the crying of the baby mario but however, the gamers who would actually took the risk of buying this game found out that this game was very challenging if you searched for all the secret goods. Also, the game came out very late in the SNES’s life. Now five years later, Nintendo has released the game on the Game Boy Advance and this version lives up to the original and it adds the infamous Mario Bros. Arcade game and six brand new levels. a big bird , stork, begun the game whenever it delivered baby mario to luigi and mario. (strange that there's no mrs. mario, but anyway). i'm letting you in ...  Read the complete review
