... titles are ropes, ladders and other climbing instruments. It was a pleasing break to see these featured rather heavily throughout this game. Unfortunately, though, the redeeming qualities of gameplay are offset by the poor audio and video implementations. The illustrations and animations featured within this title appear to be very amateurishly produced. I found the colours to be rather lackluster for the Gameboy Color console, and did not make use of the readily available technology which this console had at the time. ...more

"Antz" takes its storyline from the well known animated film of the same title and creates a sub-par "platform adventure" game. The player will control the main ant protagonist in "Z" and guide him on quests as dictated at the beginning of the game. As per most platform games, this usually involves collecting specific objects or locating certain "persons". Gameplay is simple and well executed. There are numerous obstacles to avoid throughout this title, and this is done by either tapping the "A" button to jump or "B" to use an equipped weapon for repelling enemies. This game also is really rubbish. Disney and Nintendo are out there to make just a few more dollars for their own pocket. If you want to play this game or your kids want to I would suggest that you buy the PlayStation version or P.C version. Just like Toy Story 2 and Grand Theft Auto (I have written a review on these) they have been transformed either from the PlayStation, P.C or Nintendo 64 and they are only out there to make a few more bucks. It'a a platformer!! Infogrames do a fair bit of these. Competent platformers, often based on well known titles. The graphics are nice and slick, the gameplay can only be described as platforming by numbers (jumping, collecting, the odd puzzle every now and then). It's fun enough, but hardly related to the film starring Woody Allen as an, er, ant. If your kids want it, then you could do worse, but maybe you should try and convince them that Super Mario DX is a better bet. This is the very definition of average. ...  Read the complete review

Portable update of an all time classic., A real challenge, you won´t finish it in a hurry!, Nice graphics and sound. FMV cut scenes too. Control scheme has not translated well to the humble D-pad.Very very difficult. Made more so by the tough controls. No memorial hill.
