As previously mentioned, Army Men 2 takes a more light hearted approach and, instead of using the previous desert or mountain scenarios, the player is met with more friendly "yard" or "garage" playing fields. "Army Men 2" follows closely from the original title, also available on the Gameboy Color console, but makes remarkable improvements over the first. While "Army Men" attempted to portray a true warfare scenario using plastic miniatures, as the box art suggests, Army Men 2 takes a more light-hearted approach to combat. Gameplay does not waver from the original title. The player controls a green troop leader, "Sarge", and guides him through the designated mission as outlined prior to engaging in combat (usually to eliminate enemy forces).
