There did not appear to be any useful function for the arrow keys other than to select mode of play and event. A useful implement, this game features a second player option through sharing the console itself over game-link cable. "Carl Lewis Athletics 2000" is a sports related game release for the Gameboy Color console. This title features standard track and field athletic events including the 100 metre dash, high jump and shotput. Gameplay was somewhat confusing at first and required additional practice time before being able to fully engage with the title. The difficult experience is mostly due to the odd controls which require the player to alternate between the "A" and "B" button rapidly through events.
