Advantages: Course editor, Second player option
Disadvantages: Graphics
"Crazy Bikers" is a stunt related racing game similar to many "extreme sports" titles currently for sale on other platforms. This game, like the title may suggest, involves motorbikes in a variety of oddly designed courses.
There are two modes of gameplay for the player to engage with in this title; Championship and time attack. Both appear to be reasonably the same in terms of gameplay as the player will only see his or her motorbike competing against the clock through the race course. There is also a second player mode via separate game-link cable that could bring additional appeal to this title. The race itself involves using numerous "nitro bursts" to accelerate at a quick pace and spin through loops, across small puddles and other bumps and turns. It is rather simple in that respect and becomes quickly repetitive after a few minutes of in-game play. Controls are simply "A" to accelerate and "B" to utilize the "nitro burst". I did not find any immediate use for the arrow keys other than to flip the motorbike while in mid-air to create some visual appeal.
Something I found to be rather unique to this title is the course editor; a fully featured construction grid which the player can design his or her own racing courses and implement the same spins and bumps for additional challenge. Design is simple with the arrow keys guiding where the player wishes to place a certain object, chosen by using the "select" key.
Graphics are very poor in this title. It is very difficult to tell without prior knowledge that the on-screen character is riding on top of a motorbike as the 2D image is very small and poorly rendered. I found the courses themselves to be good but did suffer from slight "blockiness" in some areas. This is especially obvious on the earlier courses which feature dirt.
Audio is that of any other racing game with the continual "buzz" sound to signal acceleration of the bike. There is also a slight "puff" to suggest "nitro" taking effect and propelling the motorbike at a high rate. This is about the crux of the sound effects and all that was truly audible through gameplay. There is also acceptable music compositions but these aren't really noticed due to the louder sound effects.
"Crazy Bikers" is the sort of game which may appeal to a younger child interested in motorsports. I found gameplay to be too simple for my personal preference and would not personally consider this to have replay value. The second player option and course editor could perhaps give this game possible replay appeal, though.
Summary: May appeal to a younger audience
