"FIFA 2000" is a sports game released to the Gameboy Color console. It is a football, or "soccer", game based on the long standing FIFA franchise. Players choose from numerous international teams and compete against the computer in a standard football match.

Gameplay is presented from an side following view, showing the player their squadron against the opposing team from an overhead angle. Players must advance the ball down the field for shooting against the opposing goaltender in hopes of gaining one point through a goal. Controlling the squadron shows some learning curve to the camera view but is quickly mastered; arrow keys guide movement, "A" shoots the ball and "B" passes it to a nearby teammate.

Graphics are good though shows signs of being slightly pixelated and not fully rendered. There are numerous "dots" on the display which could suggest a more dot-matrix approach to artistic implementation, but this would be unlikely considering its later release date. Detailing was somewhat good though the players show no obvious facial features and the sprite seems to be repeated throughout each playing position. The finer details of a game of football, such as a check coloured soccer ball, was present.

As per most sports titles, the audio in this game features a consistent "hiss" to suggest the roar of the watching crowd. Other than this obvious sound I did not hear much by the way of accenting features. There did appear to be a slight "tapping" sound with each pass and shot but these are very quiet in presentation.

Overall, "FIFA 2000" could likely suit a football fanatics need for something on the Gameboy Color console. I did not particularly enjoy the game but would have no problem suggesting this title to those who might otherwise like it.
