"Mario Tennis" is a video game released for the Gameboy Color console in 2001 by Nintendo. It features popular characters from the "Super Mario Brothers" series of video games. In the United States, the game received a rating of "E" by the ESRB panel which deemed it suitable for all ages. The first tennis game I played was on the original game boy and had very little content. This new version of Mario tennis has a lot more variation. After the title screen and short intro you are given the option to choose between 3 different game types:- - Exhibition: chose your character/s singles or doubles number of game per set and then play a short match. -Mario mini games: take on a character and complete two levels. You have a choice of 5 characters (some of which have to be unlocked) and the each character has a mini game. Provided you like tennis games this is one of the best I have played. I've always been a fan of "fun" tennis games (ones that aren't too realistic) and provided you like this type of game you should enjoy Mario Tennis. Despite being called Mario Tennis if you play the main mode of the game you will probably see little of the mario characters in comparison to normal humans. --RPG Elements-- The game adds a number of RPG elements to the normal tennis game which helps to make you feel you are actually achieving something when you complete a task or win a match.
