The sound is likewise acceptable and was able to feature the typical voice prompts such as "Fight!" at the beginning of each round. Overall, the controls in Mortal Kombat 4 are very cumbersome and do not do justice to an otherwise acceptable game. There is a learning curve in mastering the functions but after this has expired could provide some entertainment to a more avid fan of the series....more

I thought, like every other Mortal Kombat 'worshipper' that since the other Mortal Kombat games were great on other platforms, such as the playstion and the even the sega mega drive, that this Game boy colour version would be just as good. I was wrong. Frankly, the graphics are dull and each character is represented by a 2-coloured streak on the middle of the screen. Some may argue that this is on a low powered machine like a gameboy, so this fault should be dismissed, but I've seen better on the gameboy - take streetfighter alpha, for example. This game is good for a gameboy game I mean in the way of graphics etc, for the gameboy this is great because on the gameboy you have noy got good graphics so for the gameboy this good. The only problem with this game is that all of the games of Mortal combat on the playstation have the same moves and now they have the same moves on the gameboy as well as on the playstation.
