Advantages: It's Mortal Kombat!!!

Disadvantages: Graphics

I thought, like every other Mortal Kombat 'worshipper' that since the other Mortal Kombat games were great on other platforms, such as the playstion and the even the sega mega drive, that this Game boy colour version would be just as good. I was wrong. Frankly, the graphics are dull and each character is represented by a 2-coloured streak on the middle of the screen. Some may argue that this is on a low powered machine like a gameboy, so this fault should be dismissed, but I've seen better on the gameboy - take streetfighter alpha, for example.

Despite the characters being poorly made, the backgrounds themselves are also just 3 or 4-coloured blocks joined together in an unrealistic fashion and the fatality moves, that are unique to the Mortal Kombat series which we all knew and loved have translated into a black and red mess on an LCD screen. The gameplay gets a bit boring as the same moves would defeat all the characters, so playability won't last.

This game is just not worth the £25 people are handing over for it. A better, more worthwhile beat-em-up alternative is something along the lines of Street fighter Alpha.
