Ah the Nintendo Gameboy. I first got given one of these as a christmas pressie when I was 9 and I absolutely loved it! My mum had bought it second hand (they were very expensive to buy new at the time) and it came with 9 games, most of which I can't remember but I did have Tetris (excellent), Mario Land (excellent) and Bubble Bobble (rubbish!). I couldn't have been happier on christmas morning.

The batteries lasted around 5 hours and thats 4 x AA batteries! Kids would laugh if you told them that now. Because the console was so big too you used to get hand ache where the corner would press into your palm!

The games you could get for this were really good. Lots of choice and although the graphics were rubbish you didn't know any better so at the time it was ace!

Gameboys can be bought from Ebay now relatively cheeply although the original ones as shown in the picture are going up in value due to the 'retro revival' I loved this console and sometimes wish things were still as simple and easy to use. Oh well, technology must move on!

Summary: this was the best xmas present ever!
