Advantages: ?!?!

Disadvantages: ?!?!?!

Pokemon-The phase the gripped the nation, no, the continent, no THE WORLD!!!

By now everyone has heard or seen pokemon. Be it the game the cartoon the card collecting game. Everyone has seen it!

Pokemon Blue and Red were the source of this evil! From these 2 games sprung a multi-million Yen (or what ever the currency is in Japan) Company.

The game, no matter how annoying, how irritating or how damn right disturbing it might seem...is actually pretty good.

The game follows the same story as the cartoon; well actually it is the cartoon that follows the same story as the game.
You play as Ash or Garry, or whatever you call your character at the start of the game. You start at the small town of Pallet town, and the local Professor Oak wants to see you. When you get there he tells you to choose one of three pokemon, which pokemon you chose determines the level of difficulty at the start of the game. But as you get further involved and your pokemon gets stronger it doesn’t really matter.

In the game there are 2 main aims to achieve, they are not separated into 2 parts though. The first is to travel the land of...umm, I don’t know, but anyway. You have to travel around to all the different towns and villages and sometimes cities in the world of pokemon and defeat the local gym leader and get a badge to prove you have.
There are 8 gyms in total. After defeating all 8, who have to go and win the pokemon League! You have to beat the elite four! The best pokemon trainers in the land.

The other aim is collect all 150 pokemon, or is there 151? Now that might seem easily and believe me at the start of the game it is. But as you get further in it becomes increasingly difficult to capture them. And the added annoyance that the only way to get all 150 is trade pokemon with a friend that has the other colour game. As on red version there are pokemon that are not on the blue version, and on the blue version
there are pokemon that are not on red version. Also if you are anything like me that last 5 pokemon will be very hard to get your hands on.

This game uses the same sort of engine as Zelda: Links awakening. It’s an overhead view with your character more or less also in the middle of the screen. The graphics are average, but lets face it, did any of us buy a Gameboy for the graphical qualities? I certainly didn’t!

It is outstanding playable game and the originality of the game is also great. This game will keep you playing for ages.

It is Great!!!

Very, very good. I'm not bothering with this game before, now I have my Game Boy Advance <pose>. You obviously put quite some effort into this and therefore, you deserve the VU I gave it ^_^
