Why do Dooyoo put a limit on the amount of words you're allowed to write? Yes I know it stops one sentence reviews but the minimum is so SMALL. Its not like many people will read your 75 word Op and give it a very useful. To get a VU you have to put loads of blood sweat and tears into it.

Why the sudden out burst? Why under the pokemon section? I don't know. I just did so BLEAH!

Okay so I know that the Pokemon phenomenom is dead and buried but the games live on! Especialy Pokemon Red/Blue. These two games were revolutionary for the game boy. The sheer depth of the game and it (most of the time) good graphics brought new life to a hand-held that was well past its sell by date.

Basically Pokemon stands for Pocket monsters for all of you not in the know. These pokemon are like animals but they all have there own special powers. To catch a pokemon you have to first weaken it then throw a poke ball at it and if it is weak enough it will be caught.

You play a young Pokemon trainer who has dreams of winning the Pokemon League (a group of the best pokemon masters in existance). First you get your first pokemon from some Proffesor Dude. You can Choose from 3:

Bulbasaur (a grass type thing)
Charmander ( a fire lizard kind of thing)
Squirtle ( a turtle kind of thing)

You then face you arch enmy in a Battle. He of course has chosen the pokemon yours is weak against (i.e fire weak against water, strong against grass). If you win, you've got the upper hand. Lose and you and your arch enemy person are on the same terms.

From then you are by yourself. You have to go in to the wild grass where pokemon could appear at any time. You are able to catch these providing you have a poke ball

Matthews guide to catching a pokemon

1: Find a Wild P'mon
2: Choose which of your P'mon you want to use.
3: Choose your P'mons best move
4: make your p'mon do it!
5: If
it Wild P'mon, find another
6: Wait until it goes under 1/4 of it strength
7: throw a P' ball at it
8: IT SHOULD BE CAUGHT!

So the basic aim of the game is to go round and get your pokemons levels higher. To get them higher you have got to battle like you did in the guide above. When the lvl gets high enough, your pokemon evolve. The more it evolves, the stronger it gets.

And so come the end of another review, albeit a small and useless one but a review nethertheless. Nintendo have announced plans for a new, as yet untitled pokemon game for my treasure Gameboy Advance. Can't wait until it comes out in late 2002
