Pokémon gold and silver is the new sequel to Pokémon red and blue, the most popular games ever. It has many new qualities and also Hiroki, a new kid in place of Ash Ketchum and you have a new rival named Gin. There are 250 pokémon in the game, opposed to the 150 in the previous version, so if you thought they were hard to collect, just try this! You begin the game with a choice of three new pokémon. These are Cyndaquil(fire), Chicorita(grass) or Totodile(water).

GRAPHICS

The graphics in the game are great, in full colour, supported by a 52 color panel.

POKÉMON

There are 250 pokémon in the game, but there is rumoured to be a 251st in the game!

NEW EVOLUTIONS

There are new evolutions in the game, meaning that some pokémon such as Pikachu will have another step in their evolution.

POKÉMON TYPES

There are also new pokémon types, These are Evil/Devil and Steel

Two great new parts of the game are breeding pokémon and the new day and night feature.

BREEDING

In Pokémon g/s, it is possible to breed 2 pokémon of different sexes and hatch a baby! The strength of the baby depends on its parents so if you have 2 well-trained pokémon, their baby should be great!

DAY AND NIGHT

There is a new day and night feature to the game. For example, you may go to one area during the day and find a Pikachu, but go to the same area during the night and you will find a Caterpie. Also during the night you won't be able to use some Pokemon because they are sleeping. Some Pokemon may sleep during the day too, meaning you will have to carry two sets of Pokemon.

OTHER INFO

You can transfer pokémon from red and blue versions into the game but cannot get the new pokémon into the previous versions.

It's impossible to catch all the pokémon without linking with silver, red or blue as different versions have different pokémon.

You still have to
collect gym badges. The gyms in gold and silver are different to the other versions.

It is possible to go back to the old island after collecting all 8 badges from the new world.

There are many new items, including a whole new back-pack, creating a vast amount of space for pokéballs etc... You carry a watch consisting of a clock, calender, and radio.
