For a Game Boy Classic cartridge, this is not a bad little game. I have never owned this, but I have borrowed it long-term before and I can safely say it is more enjoyable than the Red and Blue versions with Pikachu following you around and an extra surf game on the beach somewhere. When compared with the later Pokémon games, it's not brilliant, but when you have played on the later versions, it has a nice back-to-basics feel with only the original 150 (151) Pokémon. When played on a colour console, it shows in colour, unlike the Red and Blue versions which show in red and blue respectively. The game starts off in Pallet Town, just like ... I would like to start off this review by saying that I am reviewing this with the intention of reviewing this game as a game and not considering the fact that the Blue and Red versions exist. I would also like to initially warn that if you are an owner of the Red/Blue versions of 'Pokémon' then there is really no need to buy this although this is the best version of the initial adventure. So....Pokémon, eh. I bet there isn't a single soul in the developed world that hasn't heard of Pokémon or Pikachu. It started out about a decade ago in deepest Tokyo, Japan where Nintendo developers intended to create a game that would be something of an ... Read the complete review

My stepdaughter was lucky enough to receive a Game Boy Color for Xmas and equally lucky, for me rather than her, she received the Pokemon Yellow Pikachu Edition Game. I say lucky for me because I now have the opportunity to review my first ever game on the Game Boy Color on Dooyoo. Writing a review on an alien machine after playing so many games for so long on the PC and Playstation is rather tricky, especially concerning graphics and sound, so please bear with me! Pokemon Yellow Pikachu Edition game for the Game Boy Colo(U)r is a role playing adventure game set in the fabulous world of Pokemon. The object of the game is to become a Pokemon trainer and enter the ... Read the complete review

Pokemon Yellow is by far the greatest Pokemon game of all time in my personal opinion. I remember first falling in love with Pokemon Blue and Red, and then when this was bought for me for my birthday in the 1990's, this immediately became my all time favourite. I still consider thiis title one of the bets games in my collection and these days, you can find yourself paying top price for it in perfect condition in Amazon or eBay, but sadly, mine will never be for sale - sorry folks- now onto the review of this brilliant game! The game starts off in a small town where your main character dreams of setting out on an adventure. Then, Professor Oak calls him to his ... Read the complete review

Its intresting to think that at one point this was being reviewd right here on DooYoo as a brand new product, and yet I am reviewing it as one of gaming history and nostalgia. Pok'emon yellow was released in the summer of 2000, being brought out as a special edition to give the fans a better link to the anime story. Obviously from the cover , this game featured highly around Pikachu and allowed the player to more realistically play out the story of Ash Katchum. Whilst the gameplay and dynamics were widely the same as its counterpart Pok'emon red/blue , Yellow added a few more new details and aspects. Essentialy staying as a top down ...
