Tennis (GB)
by dramaxxqueenxx05
When some person bought me this game, I thought it could be a good game as it was Mario and I am a keen tennis player myself, however I did like the graphics as they were original and colorful and music sounded nice too, however I thought the loading of the game was a bit slow, so it was a little waiting around before playing any of the ... games.
On the introduction there wasn't a lot of opition on how you could play the game and you could only play one sort of game and only could change the level of game whether you wanted it easy, average or hard.
The one game it self wasn't interesting or fun it was all about hitting a tennis ball to one another and who was the first person to get to 45 points, but if you lost in the game and got 'game over' there wasn't a lot of opition to either try out other games or practice your skills and you could do was switch the game off or have another go, which I gave up after doing this a number of times! As well most of the time I got 'game over' even on an easy level!
Luckily I sold this game in the end, as I didn't like it and there wasn't much to do except play the same old game over and over again! So if I was ever to have a gameboy again, I would never touch this game again Read the complete review |

WCW Mayhem (GB)
by mikeymill
Released in 2000 this game is average, but with some basic improvments, it could have been a great wrestling game.
Graphics- This is the one good point about the game. The graphics are almost Neo Geo style and are very eyepleasing, the colour scheme is also great and they got all the colours for the characters costumes right. ... 6/10
Roster- The roster consists of WCW's best, such as: Buff Bagwell, Booker T, Ric Flair, Kevin Nash, Hollywood Hogan, Sting, Bret Hart and many more.
8/10
Gameplay- A is to punch and B is to kick, various combinations of both of these combined with the arrow buttons allow grapples for example the down arrow and B performs a Piledriver. This is one complaint about the game, the moveset is very limited. All the moves seem to be high impact manuevers such as Flips and spinning Piledrivers, there are few basic manuevers such as BodySlams and Snapmares. One fresh and interesting feature is being able to fight in the locker room and in a back alley, but there is not much to do in the backstage areas, so it's just something extra to do.
5/10
Other- This game is fun for short periods of time but gets tiresome, there is a link mode for two players should you own a Gameboy link cable and this is the best way to play the game.
Overall- A fun title to play for short amounts of time, I would advise paying anything up to Ł5 for this title but no more. 6/10 Read the complete review |

Mario Tennis (GB)
by cj500
Mario tennis for the game boy colour is a fantastic game one of the best games avaliable for the game boy and that really is saying alot! Ok so it may not be realistic tennis action such as virtual tennis and top spin provides but this gem of a game is still better than both of them.
Of course like every sport type game mario ... stars in you can select many characters from the mario universe and play against either the computer or another human player, there are alot of mario characters to choose from in this game plus others you will unlock along your way. Gameplay maybe pretty basic at times like I said before its not exactly text book tennis gameplay but then again its a mario game its not supposed to be like playing a professional tennis game.
The best thing about this particular version of mario tennis is the mario tour mode, this is a real great in depth RPG mode where you a trainee tennis star set out to become the worlds greatest tennis player and to beat the best tennis star ever...........John mcenroe!!! well actually its not john mcenroe its none other than MARIO! Anyway the start of the game you start at the tennis academy and eventually you will be able to beat other tennis players in the academy in order to climb up in the ranks until you play the champion of the whole academy! Once you prove yourself and beat the champion you then get a chance to fly to the open island tournament where you can really make a name for yourself. And then if you manage to win that tournament you can go where not many tennis players have gone before.............The mushroom kingdom where eventually you will be able to enter the greatest tennis tournament and try and beat the tennis master himself Mario!!
All in all this tennis game is fantastic it has great characters to choose from, many different courts to play on, great music to listen to and an absolutely great RPG single player mode which will have you glued to your game boy for weeks! A definite buy. Read the complete review |
