Star Wars - Rogue Squadron III: Rebel Strike (GC):
... have already reviewed the prequel to this, and I gave that game 5 stars. The reason I have not given this game that score is very simple - although the (already excellent) graphics have improved, the framerate is still high and there are more missions, the makers have made one terrible mistake - including ground based combat. Although previously you simply flew your ship in space (and sometimes above planets attac... Read the full review: Change isn't always best... by MB92 |

Ghost Recon (GC) ... Recon is set apart from other First Person Shooters by its tactical approach - A few hits can kill and you lead a team of (intelligent) squadmates into battle. I really loved this game because nearly all the other shooters available for Gamecube allow you to take dozens of hits before dying or will provide you with medical treatment or something similar. No such help is on offer here, and the game is all the better for it. The missions are very difficult towards the end but there is a steady learning curve, and you can replay them in a number of different modes after you complete each level. The game also looks impressive and it has not dated particularly badly in terms of graphics, which is particularly important for a first person shooter. There is a real cinematic feel because of the excellent sound, for example when a gun is fired, however voice acting is particularly bad, not that that is a real issue. The g...
