Reviews on "Gamecube Games"

Donkey Konga 2 (GC): ... simply, this is one of my favourite Gamecube games! I was sceptical at first, but with the excellent controller, which gives you a chance to drum ad clap yourself, and the clear way that the timing is illustrated, with the great songs and the good audio, this game is tonnes of fun! The best thing about this game is that the songs can be played at three different levels, depending on how good you are! The fir...

Hydromancer Doshin The Giant (GC)
... I bought this game, I was really looking forward to it. I had been led to believe that it involved interaction with a huge world where you could do what you wanted. You could affect the people living on the islands through your actions, both good and bad. In short, all the official press releases and official websites were describing it as Nintendo s very own Black & White . How quickly I learnt the errors of my ways. So, now on with the review: Setting: You are a big yellow giant. Some crackpot legend said you would one day, rise from the sea. The legend doesn t say much else. So the game starts with you as a big yellow giant, wondering what in the world ex...

Hydromancer Metroid Prime 2: Echos (GC)
... has broken my heart on many occasions in recent years. The standards of its games has slipped drastically, especially in the Zelda department. But Metroid Prime begged to differ: a solid first-person adventure game with enough depth, gameplay and attention to detail to satisfy most people. Sure, it was hard at times but that was what some of us liked. It was a game which would last you months, and a game still rated very highly as the best game on the Gamecube. Scratch that, it WAS the best game on the Gamecube. For Metroid Prime 2 is here, and it s a meanie. But you ll love it. Once again, we play the mysterious bounty hunter, Samus Aran (aka that foxy chick i...

RayWhitney Resident Evil 2 (GC)
... it arrived, Resident Evil grabbed us all by the throats like the ravenous zombies it depicted, and shoved a brand new genre down our mouths. Survival Horror - where the player stands alone against a horde of evil, and has nothing but his wits and a minimal supply of weaponry to keep himself alive. It was a smash hit, nothing short of unique brilliance, and although Capcom bled the franchise dry with a horde of sequels (some of them as dead as their monsters they contained), they dusted it off and turned it three-sixty with Resident Evil 4, which dumped the awkward controls and angles of the original engine, thrust the camera behind the protagonist and sprinkled a lib...
