Advantages: Good graphics, fun racing, good unlockables, crash mode!

Disadvantages: Could've done with some more levels

The Burnout series is now well renowned for it's fantastic fast and furious gameplay, however this was the game that really made them famous.

The whole objective is obviously to win your race but by racing more aggressively and dangerously you can earn a boost (a Burnout), this can be generated by getting air, drifting and driving through on-coming traffic. In addition to the grand prix modes available in the game there are now several other modes such as Pursuit where you have to chase down criminals and ram their vehicles. Also introduced for the first time is crash mode. It's your objective to crash into traffic and cause as much damage as possible. This is one of the most fun game modes that I've ever played and you can spend many hours trying to perfect your best crash.

The graphics on the Gamecube are pretty impressive and there are lots of cars on screen at the same time particularly on the highways. The game obviously features a decent two player mode and this can add to the experience.

Overall this is one of the best games available on the Gamecube and all owners should pick up a copy!

Summary: Great racing game that is immensely fun to play!
