Advantages: Highly amusing, easy to get into, no awful camera angles!

Disadvantages: Too short

When my boyfriend first bought this game, I thought, well this looks sorta like a real kiddy game. However I gave it a try nonetheless. And I'm glad I did!

Luigis Mansion is amazing, it doesn't deserve all the low ratings and stick it has been getting elsewhere.

Anyway, the general gist of the game is Luigi has won a mansion. Bizarrely, he didn't even enter the contest, but hey, he's a gullible lil chap! Mario goes off to explore the mansion and when he doesn't return Luigi decides to play detective. However upon his arrival all is not what it seems, and he discovers that Mario has actually been kidnapped and is being held hostage by Bowser! Now you, playing as Luigi, are to rescue Mario, with a ghostbusting device, well a hoover, really.

The general gameplay is quite simple, though the controls do take a little getting used to. The idea being that to progress from one point of the game to the next you must suck up and capture a certain amount of ghosts from each area - this being where the tricky controls come in!
It does seem a little repetitive and so I guess to vary it a little, there are 3 different kinds of ghosts. Some that you can simply suck up, some which have weak spots you must identify before being able to capture them and the boss ghosts.

Even the graphics leave little to be desired for, as the whole game plays through like an actual cartoon! No kidding, you could be watching TV!
Also fine detail, such as curtains flapping in the wind, tablecloths you can suck up, shelves that rattle, dust blowing up slightly, excellent shadow casting, the lot!

Also I love how Luigi hums while he's doing all this, and every now and then you even hear a tremble in his voice as he calls out for his older brother!

An excellent game, I really can't find anything bad about this game other than it's a little on the short side.
