Advantages: Great multiplayer
Disadvantages: Nothing
The concept of Mario Kart - Double Dash! is a racing game where the kart you control has two Mario characters in it. One character controls the weapons you can pick up, whilst the other controls the driving.
Though the one player mode is well done and I have no complaints about it, it is in the two player game modes that this game comes to life. There are two two player modes: race or battle. Race is just what you would expect, except that you have two cars even if you have four players. This means that you compete in pairs, one person controls the weapons whilst the other drives. You can switch roles by both pressing the z button at the same time.
The battle mode is a better multiplayer mode in my opinion. There are three modes: balloons, shine thief and bombs. On shine thief there is a sort of shiny ball that you have to pick up and whoever is holding onto it at the end wins that game. Bombs is where you just have to kill each other with bombs. I personally do not like these two modes.
Balloon Battle however is far better. You start with three balloons which are lives and whoever is the last standing wins. You destroy other players balloons by hitting them with weapons but you can also steal balloons off them.
If you still have a GameCube seek out this classic of a game!
Summary: A fantastic game which deserves its status as a classic for the GC
