Nintendo GameCube has typically been labelled as the "kids" console despite horror spectacles such as Resident Evil and Eternal Darkness. It is also known for having a great deal of platform games such as Mario, and party games such as Super Monkey Ball. It is not surprising that Nintendo have decided to produce Mario Party 4 for the GameCube what with the likes of Mario Sunshine, Luigi's Mansion and Super Smash Bros. Melee already available. The Mario brand is Nintendo's trademark and has been ever since the original Mario Party. With that in mind what could be better than producing another Mario related game in the form of Mario Party 4? ... Read the complete review

Mario Party is one of Nintendo's big games, but what makes the game so special is that it is a video game of a board game wsing all of the typical Nintendo characters such as Mario, Luigi, Princess, Toad, Donkey King and Bowser along with several others. Once you have picked your character on with the board game. You can pick a board game out of a series of different ones organised in order of difficulty. Once you have decided which board you want to use you are ready to play. Since its release on the N64 a while back, Mario Party has always been the #1 'mini game' game (in my opinion at least). While there have been other games that try to copy the idea, none have ever been as enjoyable and successful as Mario Party. I am sure many of you have heard of if not played any of the 3 previous Mario Party games, but i will do a short paragraph on what the game is about! As in the past 3 Mario Party games, Mario Party 4 is a minigame-based board game, which excels in multiplayer. In Mario Party 4, the idea is to travel round the board, by rolling a dice, and collecting as many stars as you can within the allocated ... Read the complete review

In Mario Party 4 you play a variety of mini games while navigating around a board game like environment. You have 5 different boards to play on and a host of mini games to play. In game you hit the dice to see how many spaces you can move. the object of the game is to be the one with the most stars, which are bought with 20 coins. the board is a circular shape with different paths to take and as you go round at the end of everybosy's turn you play a mini game. There are several different types of mini games. From 2 vs 2, 3 vs 1, all vs all, battle games etc. The type of game depends on who lands on what squares on the board. you earn coins by wining them in the mini ... Read the complete review

Out of all of the Mario Party series, this is my least favorite one, but it is still a very fun game. With this being the first Mario Party on the gamecube console, Nintendo was able to add some more features and better graphics for a more enjoyable gameplay. The most enjoyable addition this game was the lottery feature. Every board has a lottery, where you pay five coins in hope of winning a prize. 1st prize is 100 coins, 2nd prize is 30 coins, and 3rd prize is a super mushroom. The game is picked randomly between spinning a cog for a colored ball to come out, or choosing a ticket to scratch off to reveal a prize. The first time you play the ... Read the complete review
