Advantages: Fun, addictive, good multi-player game

Disadvantages: Repetitive, time consuming

Mario Party is one of Nintendo's big games, but what makes the game so special is that it is a video game of a board game wsing all of the typical Nintendo characters such as Mario, Luigi, Princess, Toad, Donkey King and Bowser along with several others. Once you have picked your character on with the board game.

You can pick a board game out of a series of different ones organised in order of difficulty. Once you have decided which board you want to use you are ready to play. Using the Gamecube controller you hit A to roll two dice which will take you said amount of places down the board - in that it is the same as any board game.

However the main aim in this board game is to collect stars which cost 50 coins and are only sold on one square on the board which you can buy from as soon as you pass. But as soon as the star is bought then it moves place. If you land on a blue square you get 3 coins, a red square you lose 3 coins, a green square something random happens and you can also on some boards use shops, trains and such like.

Once everyone has had their go then the miny game starts, which is either everyone for themselves, 2 on 2, or 3 vs 1 depending on which squares everyone landed on. You will find that some games you are brilliant at and others you just can't do, which gives a certain amount of fainess to the game. Particularly if you are playing with your friends.

This is a suprisingly addictive game, and also highly frustrating if your friends have just stolen your stars or something similar. The main issue is that each game takes a remarkable amount of time to complete and there is no particular reward at the end of the game, the other thing is that the mini games are rather repetitive at times.

Summary: Fun to play with friends
